Carriage House Inn (Register) Guest Speaker Mayor Linda Bruce Mayor Bruce is originally from Nova Scotia and has been a resident of Airdrie since 1991. She was first elected to Council in October of 1995. Linda served as Deputy-Mayor from October 2003 to 2004 and was elected Mayor in October 2004. She has a Diploma of Remote Sensing Technology from Nova Scotia College of Geophysical Sciences and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Dalhousie University. Her present commitments include the Calgary Regional Partnership (Chairperson) and the Nose Creek Watershed Partnership. It is as Chair of the CRP she will be addressing us and will outline the Partnership’s plans and some of the projects currently underway. This includes the first phase of the regional plan for growth and sustainability which includes among other things a regional vision and agreement on principles to guide the region's growth. The Partnership’s regional water and wastewater servicing study, to be completed soon, will also be outlined. Other projects include a strategy for sustainable investment attraction, a regional composting system, a specialized transportation system, and a regional GIS (Geographic Information System). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
